A Ripple IPO? CEO Brad Garlinghouse Says Its Likely In 2020

Ripple IPO? Who ever thought we would be talking about cryptocurrency entering the lucrative IPO space and mangling with the big boys of Wall Street so soon!

Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s co-founder and CEO hinted that at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on January 23rd. He suggested the pro-bank crypto firm may release an IPO as early as this year (2020).

“In the next 12 months, you’ll see IPOs in the crypto/blockchain space. We’re not going to be the first and we’re not going to be the last, but I expect us to be on the leading side… it’s a natural evolution for our company.”

By releasing an IPO, Ripple will invite investors to purchase shares in the company before going public.

This new Ripple IPO news is a sign the crypto market is turning its focus from initial coin offerings (ICOs), initial exchange offerings (IEOs), and security token offerings (STOs) to the more traditional method of raising funds.

The ICO/IEO/STO route doesn’t involved adhering to the cumbersome legal processes imposed on IPOs.

A Ripple IPO will not only enriches its founders and investors’ pockets, but also help raises traditional investors confidence in investing in crypto-based projects.

However, Ripple will not be the first crypto project to venture into Wall Street. The first was a commercial bank with digital currencies as their main business focus named Silvergate Bank. They successfully filed and list an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange at the end of November 2019.

What will a Ripple IPO means for XRP’s price & investors?

Contrary to current rumors that Ripple will be selling off XRP to reduce current assets they have on their balance sheet, they will be holding tight so they can get the highest price possible per share for Ripple.

If Brad follows through, an IPO will be the best thing ever happen to XRP holders. The coin’s price will be sky high. Why? Because that will make their balance sheet looks huge and value of each Ripple share higher.

What are your thoughts on a Ripple IPO? Will it be something you take part in?
